THE DETAILS BEHIND THE DRAW

A great reveal.
Clear rules behind it.

Give your chat a giveaway they can understand. Here is how SpinDeck selects a winner, protects prize codes, and handles the things a wheel cannot verify.

01 / ENTER

One accepted entry, one chance.

Chat entries are deduplicated by platform account ID within a round. Sending the keyword again does not earn another slot. Each accepted entry has the same chance when the draw begins.

A person using different accounts or platforms can enter more than once. Manual entries are added by the host and are labelled separately.

02 / DRAW

The server selects. The wheel reveals.

The server uses Node.js crypto.randomInt to select an entry before the animation starts. The overlay and viewer page animate toward that same saved result.

This is server-side randomness. SpinDeck does not currently publish a cryptographic proof that lets an outsider independently verify a draw.

03 / KEEP

A selected winner stays selected.

Once a spin starts, dashboard and API controls cannot reset, cancel or delete that round. Completed draws stay in the host's history. A server restart resumes the saved result.

Before the spin, the host can add or remove entries, reset the deck, stop a round, or draw before all slots fill. Those controls affect who is eligible.

PRIZE SECURITY

Your prize code belongs
off the broadcast.

Stored codes use AES-256-GCM encryption. Codes and claim links are excluded from public round updates and OBS overlays.

After a draw, the signed-in host copies the hidden claim link from their dashboard and sends it privately to the winning account.

DATA & CONNECTIONS

Know what you share.

Viewers enter through platform chat without creating a SpinDeck account. Connecting a chat does not give SpinDeck permission to moderate it or post messages.

SpinDeck is an independent tool. A pasted channel link does not verify that the host owns that channel, and platform availability can change.

What the application stores

  • Host email, display name, password hash and account settings; Linked provider identity and available profile information if social sign-in is used.
  • Accepted entries: platform account ID, display name, avatar, entry message and available subscriber or moderator badges.
  • Round settings, entry lists, winners and encrypted prize codes. Public round pages show display names, avatars and entry platforms.
  • Session cookies for sign-in. Application security logs include IP addresses and user agents and are cleaned after 30 days; server logs and backups are separate.

Platform avatars, embedded video players and fonts can contact third-party services. Chat integrations can disconnect or miss messages; check connection status before announcing a draw.

READY FOR YOUR NEXT STREAM

A calmer giveaway starts here.

  1. Publish your rules. Explain eligibility, prize details and how the winner will receive it.
  2. Test your setup. Open the public page, check chat status and confirm the overlay is visible.
  3. Check the entry list. Manual additions and different platform accounts each take a slot.
  4. Deliver privately. Verify the winner and send the claim link in a private message.
