Chat connected, but no giveaway entries? Start here.
Troubleshoot missing giveaway entries on Twitch, YouTube Live and Kick. Check the channel, keyword, eligibility, connection status and live chat delivery.
Connected does not prove that a keyword was received
A connected status describes the chat connection or subscription. To check the whole giveaway flow, send a new keyword message in the platform chat and confirm that its account appears in the deck. An open connection can be quiet, and an incoming message can be ineligible for the round.
01
Confirm entries are open
The round must be accepting entries. Drafts, stopped rounds, completed draws and spins do not accept new chat entries. An empty round stops automatically after two hours under the default policy. Reopen it from the control room if you still intend to run it.
02
Send the exact keyword as a new message
Read the keyword shown in the control room. If it is !key, send !key by itself in the actual stream chat after entries open. Avoid punctuation attached to the command, such as !key!. Messages posted before the round started are not a reliable test.
03
Check the account and available slots
A viewer who already has a slot cannot add another with the same platform account. A full deck has no remaining slots. Check the subscriber filter and blocklist, and make sure the test account meets the announced entry rules.
04
Check the source link
Confirm the Twitch or Kick channel matches the chat you are watching. For YouTube, use the current live video, not an older broadcast, a channel homepage or a regular video comment section.

Twitch chat entries
Open the same Twitch channel configured for the round and post a fresh command. A subscriber restriction depends on the badges attached to the incoming message. Moderators and the broadcaster can also qualify. If chat is reconnecting, wait for it to recover and test with a new message. A Twitch video player being offline is different from chat being disconnected.
Open the live video and confirm chat is enabled and accessible. SpinDeck reads live chat, not comments under a video or chat replay. YouTube delivers messages in batches and controls the polling interval, so allow several seconds for an entry. There is no guaranteed zero-delay delivery. Check for a changed video link if you restarted the broadcast.
Kick integration uses official signed chat events delivered to SpinDeck. The channel and active subscription must be correct. A connected subscription alone does not prove that a new message arrived. Post a fresh keyword in that channel, then check the deck. If several accounts are missing, note the channel and time so support can trace event delivery.
This points to the overlay display rather than chat collection. Check that OBS uses this round's overlay URL and the correct scene, then refresh the Browser Source. Avoid resetting a live giveaway to fix a display problem: resetting clears the current entry deck.
Keep the public round URL, platform, channel or live video link, approximate message time, keyword and public viewer username. Note whether only one account is affected or every new message is missing. These details help separate duplicate or eligibility checks from a platform delivery failure.
Never share passwords, API secrets, session cookies or private prize claim links. A streamer does not need to edit API credentials to retry a normal entry. If an integration needs repair, the site administrator can use the chat diagnostics panel to check the connection and received messages.
Check that the round is accepting entries, the channel is correct and the exact keyword was sent after the round started. Connection status alone does not confirm message delivery or entry eligibility.
Why are YouTube entries slower than Twitch?
YouTube live chat is polled in batches using an interval supplied by YouTube. Delivery can take several seconds or longer during platform or network problems.
Should I reset the giveaway to refresh OBS?
No. Refresh the OBS Browser Source first if entries already appear in your control room. Resetting a filling round clears its current entries.
